Red Hat 7.2 official launch

Here's the official word from Red Hat... The launch date is set to be October 22nd, at 8:00am EST (-5/GMT). Hopefully, we'll be completely in synch with their site by that morning. Red Hat 7.2 review from ZDnet

Further to the October roundtable discussion about the imminent release of Red Hat 7.2, here's the ZDnet review I mentioned, which may be of interest to you... http://www.zdnet.com/products/stories/reviews/0,4161,2816836,00.html It mentions some of the key new features in this release, such as GRUB, ext3, and a new version of Gnome. (BTW, still no word on the actual release date, but it's still sounding likely to be sometime between the 15th and the 22nd.) Just a warning. I received my renewal notice at the price of 1 yr $32, 2 yr $64. A month later another notice had the price at 1 yr $22, 2 yr $39. Logging and rejecting with iptables

Further to the question last night on how to both log and drop a packet, it is done with an extra chain. I created a LOGGING chain with a default policy of ACCEPT. The first rule in INPUT was then to jump to LOGGING. Here is what I have (my apologies for any wrapping) [root@poochie /root]# iptables -N LOGGING [root@poochie /root]# iptables -A LOGGING -p tcp --dport printer -j LOG [root@poochie /root]# iptables -I INPUT -j LOGGING [root@poochie /root]# iptables -L INPUT -v Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 1730617 packets, 454636701 bytes) pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination 42 2215 LOGGING all -- any any anywhere anywhere 5 300 REJECT tcp -- ppp0 any anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:printer reject-with icmp-port-unreachable ...
