I mentioned this problem at the last round-table session, but didn't get
a solution, so I thought I'd post it here, just in case anyone has any
suggestions to offer.
I'm still seeing a whole bunch of false positives in SpamAssassin, since
an update was installed in mid-September on a CentOS 5.7 system, for a
rule called DATE_IN_FUTURE_96_Q, which is only supposed to be triggered
when the "Date:" header has a date that is 4 days to 4 month ahead of
the date in the "Received" header that …
[View More]has the _smallest_ difference in
date.
Here are the headers from the latest e-mail I've received with this
false-positive. (I've stripped out irrelevant headers, for the sake of
clarity and simplicity.)

Note that I'm calling spamd via the spamass-milter on a system running
sendmail. Note also, that in the above example, the only "Received"
header was the one generated by my own server. (I've had other false
positives, however, with multiple "Received" headers, all of which were
within seconds of the time in the "Date" header.)
Any ideas?

Has anyone had success with 3+ monitors (on 1 computer) in linux with
Core2-era hardware (or otherwise)? Note: I don't care about 3D
performance at all, just 2D linux desktop (no compiz!) with the very
rare 3D app that won't be at all important.
I have an existing 2 monitor setup but I want to move to 3 or 4 after
a recent monitor death.
I see two ways forward, but both have uncertainty:
1. Add a 2nd (cheap) PCIex card to my Intel D975X board (has 1 x16, 1
x8, 1 x4 slots).
2. Swap out my …
[View More]existing card for a new ATI 3-display card (like 7750).
#1 will be cheaper (I probably have some here already), #2 may be
faster, but will require many expensive adapters to be purchased, as
well as the card.
Sounds easy. But there are many gotchas:
1.
a) 2nd card may not work at all: some boards have issues, some cards
have issues.
b) 2nd card may work, but at 1x. I previously ran a system on x1
video (even though it was in an x4 slot!) and even 2D was slowed down
by the x1. x4 is the bare minimum I want to run. Many board/card
combos don't "downspeed" very well, and often just go to x1
c) will linux be happy with 2 video cards (with my board)?
2.
a) do the free radeon drivers support the new Eyefinity (3+ monitor)
spec or am I forced into proprietary drivers (yuck)?
b) and do the proprietary drivers even support it and happily in
xrandr and xinerama, etc?
While in theory there should be no problems, I've learned "weird" video
card issues abound in reality. I'm trying to minimize delays waiting
for parts to try, and expense. As such, notes like "I've done it with
X and Y" would be most helpful! Or, "I'm really really sure X and Y
should work" would also help :-)
PS: I'll be doing super thin bezel models in the shape of "BO" (2
horizontal, 1 vertical) with one of the B's inverted because the bottom
bezels aren't as small as the top ones.
Thanks!

Thought I would pose this question to you all, I've got OpenVPN setup
between two systems and they are able to communicate back and fourth,
ping 10.8.0.1 and 10.8.0.6 for example works as well. I'm trying to get
the client to use the vpn as the default route, EXCEPT for traffic that
has been sent to its public address on eth0 in my case, which needs to
be sent out the same way and not take the vpn route. From what I've
read, I should and have enabled ip_forwarding and iptable postrouting
…
[View More]masquerade on the vpn server to permit internet bound traffic. Makes
sense. But everything I try (ip rules, etc) on the client to make it
route that way causes it not to be reachable directly via its public ip,
or not able to reach the vpn server anymore, etc. So if anyone has any
insight to my situation I'd really appreciate any help.

Further to a discussion last night, OVH.com is a French data center provider who has opened a large datacenter facility in Beauharnais, QC (just outside Montreal). They do not have any American facilities (except peering points). They claim to be OS-agnostic – although they don’t mention OpenBSD specifically, they do mention both FreeBSD and SmartOS. BSDCan2013 attendees got a one-month free trial of a dedicated server. (Impressively-polished video about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=…

Meanwhile, BSWS.DE remains the only non-American OpenBSD-specific hosting provider I’m aware of – please provide more examples if you know of them! (All the Google results appear to have some American connection.)
Note: I’m not trying to make a statement about the Patriot Act or doing business in the USA here, I’m just providing additional data to a conversation that was happening.

Greetings everyone,
Many people are aware that this will be my last MUUG meeting, but I
figure I should make some kind of informal announcement to the roundtable.
My fiancé and I will be moving to Palo Alto / Mountain View / Sunnyvale
this summer. She has been accepted to the doctoral program at Stanford
University starting in the fall.
It is unlikely that we will be returning to Winnipeg after her studies,
which are scheduled to last 5+ years.
It has been an honour, privilege, and …
[View More]great fun to be part of this
community as I have matured from a high school student to (cringe) young
professional.
MUUG is a great group that has a long history, and I will miss being an
active part in it.
All the best to everyone, and I hope to see you all tonight!
