threaded CP exists

Some servers needing homes.

Complex Games wanted to forward along some 1U servers that need homes. The Dual-Cores for $125, the Quad Cores for $150. USB flash memory stick wipeout

Hello all, I have had a wipout of 3 Kingston DataTraveller 16 GB and one Duracell 32 GB USB flash memory sticks. Not only is the data lost, they can't even be reformatted! (The data loss is no calamity - it was a duplicate backup.) The one misbehaviour I had thoughtlessly done: For about 9 months long, these sticks were stored in an above-counter kitchen cabinet, on the bottom level, and that cabinet has an under-the-cabinet 24-inch fluorescent fixture (tube and ballast) for illuminating the countertop. I switched it on and off a few times a day. The USB sticks were stored about 8 inches / 20 cm away from one end of the fluorescent fixture, i.e., not quite directly above the fixture (otherwise the separation would only have been 1 inch / 2.5 cm). So, does anyone know whether USB flash memory sticks (and presumably flash memory camera cards too) are particularly sensitive to electro-magnetic or other disturbances? And what about smartphones? Trying to open port 36141:TCP for PCI Compliance test

I'm trying to have a site host on Red Hat 6.3 PCI compliant through myControlScan. The only failure I have is that port 36141:TCP is being blocked somehow/somewhere, and I do not know where or how to find out. It is blocked from other servers on the network as well as itself. # nc -zv 127.0.0.1 36141 nc: connect to 127.0.0.1 port 36141 (tcp) failed: Connection refused (same result when using nc -zv localhost 36141 as well as the website ip address) 36141:TCP should be open according to iptables. The Manitoba UNIX User Group (MUUG) will be holding its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 10. The meeting topic for this month is as follows: SaltStack for SysAdmins Theo Baschak will be presenting how to use SaltStack to make your life easier, whether you administer a few hobby servers or an entire fleet of corporate systems. Enforce good SysAdmin (planning/testing/backup) skills by publishing templated configs! Run security updates on all your systems at once. Run pre-defined distributed Nagios host/service checks via the new Nagios module! For those that haven't heard of SaltStack before, it is a configuration management system that enforces state. It is usually compared with Puppet and Chef, and has been gaining popularity over the last few years. The group holds its general meetings at 7:30pm on the second Tuesday of every month from September to June. (There are no meetings in July and August.) WTB (or WTR?) optical disc cases, ddr3

I'm in need to a few misc items that are pretty useless to most people these days. I'm willing to buy (WTB, ie cash) or "recycle" (WTR, ie take them for free) them if anyone has any. Can just meet up at a meeting, or if you don't make meetings I don't mind picking them up. - DVD-R / CD-R spindles: just the empty 50 or 100+ cartons that blank optical media comes in, you know the cylindrical things with the pole in the middle? - CD jewel cases: just the old-style audio CD ones, that software used to come in too. I need lots. (Normal size most needed, but the double and quad disc cases I can use too, as well as European "maxi-single" sizes. But "slimline" cases for CD-R's etc are not useful for me.) - Small DDR3 (1333+) sticks of RAM, like 1GB (or maybe 2G) sticks that are probably useless to most people now. I can only seem to buy 4G sticks these days. I'd take smaller than 1G but I don't think they ever sold 512's in DDR3. I only need a couple/few for testing purposes. Must be cheap. Plus, if anyone wants any 15 and 17" CRT (VGA-input) monitors that still work great, let me know, I have a few I need to clear out (free!), otherwise they are going into recycling. Thanks!

Android/Nexus 5 on MTS & MMS.

Does anyone have a Lollipop based Android on MTS that has MMS working? Apparently I can't make it work on this nexus 5 and dealing with MTS is aggravating. I want to rule out a bad sim or something but would like to see the config on a phone that actually works first. :) Please contact me directly off lists/thread if you can help. :) -- Sean
