From where I'm at a) if it's being logged as having been run as user theo then we know theo is in /etc/at.allow Maybe anticipate the mystery process' next run and temporarily remove/disallow user theo Later, see error log for user theo The fully-spelled mystery command may show up. SpamAssassin false positives on DATE_IN_FUTURE_96_Q?

I mentioned this problem at the last round-table session, but didn't get a solution, so I thought I'd post it here, just in case anyone has any suggestions to offer. I'm still seeing a whole bunch of false positives in SpamAssassin, since an update was installed in mid-September on a CentOS 5.7 system, for a rule called DATE_IN_FUTURE_96_Q, which is only supposed to be triggered when the "Date:" header has a date that is 4 days to 4 month ahead of the date in the "Received" header that has the _smallest_ difference in date. Here are the headers from the latest e-mail I've received with this false-positive. (I've stripped out irrelevant headers, for the sake of clarity and simplicity.) partial PS use?

Is it possible to use a standard AT (old style) computer power supply just for its +5v out? I have a project and I just need 5v with a beefy amount of amps, and I have lots of AT PS's around that would fit the bill, but I'm wondering if running a computer PS just for its 5v line might damage it somehow? There would be no load on the 12v (and other) lines. Anything I should worry about? Thanks!

is a font free?

Is there a way to tell if a font is free? A designer gave me some fonts that their web page should use (css font-face src) but I have no idea if these files are free or not. One of the fonts is Myriad Pro Regular. From the net I can see it's easy to download, but that doesn't mean anything. Wikipedia says it's included with Adobe stuff, but that doesn't mean it's free. a) Does anyone know if this font is free for anyone to embed in their web site? b) Is there a generic way to tell if a font is free or not? c) Does anyone care? (My use scenario puts it on an important (read: sue-able) enterprise web site, so I may have to care a bit more than Joe Shmoe might.) Thanks!

Replacement for Adobe Flash Player

What is a good replacement for Adobe Flash? A number of people don't like the additional software that comes with Flash. Or that Flash requires updates so often. Where I volunteer, a number of people apply updates without looking and don't know where they get all the extra crap. I did a Google and found recommendation on Tom's Hardware for DivX, but the one time I tried it wouldn't play web video. Apparently the website must be formatted for DivX web player, it won't play the same streaming video as Adobe Flash Player. What will play web video, won't crash, won't install adware or other crap, and free? Thanks, Rob Dyck

The Manitoba UNIX User Group (MUUG) will be holding its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 9. The meeting topic for this month is as follows: Wireless Theory and Regulations Wyatt Zacharias will be doing a presentation on wireless theory and regulations, and how they pertain to the average user. Wyatt will be breaking down the basic units and calculations related to wireless networks and how they can be used by an unlicensed user. RTFM In the RTFM segment this month, Adam Thompson will discuss the use of (and possibly demonstrate) lvm(8) snapshots, particularly their use for quick rollback. Door Prizes On top of whatever else is on offer this month, we'll have a copy of the O'Reilly book "Mind Hacks" as a door prize. Come out and have a look at it and maybe get your own copy for free!
