How does on get the date function to work in Libre Office spreadsheet?

Hi, I've formatted the cells as date mm/dd/yy and entered the values as is. Also tried by preceeding with equal sign in case deemed to be a formula but neither works. I assume a difference between two days yields the difference in days, correct? Or are the formula different than plain math? Eduard the Osborne guy at last meeting

A reminder that the MUUG meeting will be this evening, both in person and online... The Manitoba UNIX User Group (MUUG) will be holding its next monthly meeting IN PERSON, on Tuesday, May 2nd, at 7:30pm. Yes, that's a week early, i.e. the FIRST Tuesday of the month... Ansible AWX "AWX provides a web-based user interface, REST API, and task engine built on top of Ansible." In this presentation, Alberto Abrao will show how to set it up, and basic usage. Where to find the Meeting: Fortress Software Inc., 350 Keewatin St -- Unit #2 We have a new in-person meeting location now! Brad Vokey has graciously let us use his work office for our next in-person meeting. The meeting room will be open by 7:00 pm, with the actual meeting starting at 7:30 pm. If driving, enter the lot using the most north east entrance and drive around to the south west corner of the building (see route in map detail on poster linked below). You can use any of the free, ample, and safe parking spots that say "reserved" in front of units #1 through #4 before entering unit #2. Bus stops #30814 and #30880 (route 77) are only 150 meters away. The last bus leaves for Polo Park at 10:15 pm and for Garden City at 10:31 pm. Logan Ave. bus routes #19, #26, and #27 are a 600 meter (8 minute) walk to the south. For those unable or preferring not to attend in person, the meeting will also be available online, using BBB as usual. Stay tuned to our muug.ca home page for the official URL, which will be made available about a half hour before the meeting starts. "washing" a fork/exec to force all groups

Just ran into this: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/8568596/procmail-disregards-etc-group# Postfix is doing something before/while it calls procmail for local delivery which strips all but the primary group of the recipient. This means any complicated pipe I have setup in procmail which relies on secondary groups fails with read perm errors. Sendmail doesn't do this stupidity (yay)! But I needed to (argh finally) use postfix on a box that needed 2 MTAs installed (and sendmail couldn't, in the end, do it properly). I consider the current stackoverflow answer to be a non-answer because Fedora/RHEL doesn't install procmail setgid/setuid anymore, and I don't want to fudge u+s g+s on every dnf update! I've solved the problem by "washing" the procmail piped-to command through sudo. I had to add to sudoers: fooman ALL=(fooman) NOPASSWD: /bin/php and change my procmail recipe pipe to: | /bin/sudo -u fooman /bin/php /needs/secondary/groups/to/read.php Ok great, it all works with postfix now just like it did with sendmail. The tricky question for you uber *nix geeks is: Can I achieve the same thing without the sudoers entry? In other words, is there a way to achieve this without root access, if someone didn't have root on the box, say. Too bad sudo isn't smart enough to say "hey, user fooman can run anything as user fooman" without a specific entry. Maybe an option for postfix? Maybe some magic sudo or su can do? Is an option to procmail possible or is this a problem that can *only* be solved by washing the call, somewhere along the line, through a setuid program (because once stripped by postfix they are gone forever)? I wonder why sendmail doesn't chop off the groups but postfix does.

New Old Dell Server

Hi folks, I recently came into possession of a brand new old machine and I'm wondering if anyone here might have an interest in it. The machine came to me as part of a bigger deal. I could deploy it but I don't necessarily need to so I would just as soon sell it instead. Dell PowerVault MD3200i 8 x 600GB drives installed 2U server with rails It was brand new in the box, bought by somebody I know in 2013, and he never got around to deploying it. I realize it's barely worth it due to the age, unless of course you are really into this specific hardware. If you or someone you know might be interested, email me.

Sendmail question

I have a user ("username") which has some mail in /var/share/mail/username (this is Solaris). The mail should have been forwarded, but for some reason has not been. Can the mail in the file above be somehow resent (re-received?) by sendmail or some process now that the user has configured /export/home/username/.forward?

Fwd: Samples of red text on black background

This is off-topic, but has anyone seen this sort of thing in Windows 10? Red and purple text on a dark or black background renders poorly, but other colours look clearly defined. The MS Code sample has a lighter gray background, so isn't affected...? Kevin

Steam Decks and Steam Desks Join us this month for a foray into Linux gaming, presented by Chris Audet. We'll discuss Valve's Steam Deck, and similar handheld computers. We'll also cover some notable gaming Linux distros, such as Lakka, and ChimeraOS. RTFM: termdown - turn your terminal into a countdown timer (or stopwatch)! For this month's RTFM, Brad Vokey will give us a quick demonstration of some of the features of termdown, a python countdown timer for the terminal which he has used in the past to count down the MUUG virtual meeting breaks.
