Between roughly 10 and 20 years ago there was a bevy, nearly a plethora, of tools to scan your various BIND zone files and check that everything was in order, no illegal names existed, PTRs matched up with As, etc., etc.
Today I can only find two, one is dead (dlint) and doesn't check zone files only live DNS, and the other (validns) doesn't do PTR<-->A checks which is what I really wanted.
Where did all the other zone consistency-checking tools go? Anyone have any pointers / links?
Thanks, -Adam
I'm on a handful of mailing lists that are pretty focused on DNS and even searching the archives of these didn't turn up anything.
