Hey all,Does anyone have a LTO 5 compatible tape drive? I am looking for one that is external, whichever connection interface is fine, and even if it's single tape capacity that will work for me.Thanks,Daulton
I have an HP external that has been sitting in storage for 20+ years, was working when it went into storage.... it's the small dat tapes, is this what you are looking for ?? it's SCSI interface.

Hi Greg,Thanks for getting back to me, I do not believe that would be the same type as LTO 5 came out in 2010. Here's a link about LTO tapes:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_Tape-OpenThanks,Daulton -------- Original message --------From: Greg Manning a31ford@gmail.com Date: 2023-01-24 6:34 p.m. (GMT-06:00) To: Continuation of Round Table discussion roundtable@muug.ca Subject: Re: [RndTbl] LTO 5 compatible tape drive I have an HP external that has been sitting in storage for 20+ years, was working when it went into storage.... it's the small dat tapes, is this what you are looking for ?? it's SCSI interface. On Tue, Jan 24, 2023 at 6:08 PM Daulton daulton@tetmail.ca wrote:Hey all,Does anyone have a LTO 5 compatible tape drive? Hi Daulton,
I am not good at hardware even though I wrote device drivers during ancient times. Anyways, I took a look at the stuff in storage and looks like there are Iomega tape drives, some tape drive that looks like an HP drive (thinking it is HP because there are lots of HP 4mm tapes in that bin) and so on.
You are welcome to come over and take a look at your convenience. If it is useful/appropriate you can have it.
Vijay
