Hi: I was wondering if Shawn could post the URL to the $13 newegg cards? Also I'm not quite sure I understand what this part would allow me to do? With this card it is possible to convert an analog line into a "digital" line that voip phones on my network could talk to? and then the card would do the calling and converting back to analog? weird dns problems (possibly resolved)

I think I fixed the dns problem which I described at the meeting. It seems that web browsers are much more picky about dns timeouts (Especailly on mac). I added a line to my bind config to use my ISP's dns servers as forwarders (which I am told is the "right" way to do it anyways) and it seems to have fixed the problem, and surfing is visibly quicker to start now. Firefox release party!

======== Firefox release party! Firefox v1.0 was officially released today and we are having a party! On Saturday November 20th starting at 8pm there will be an "official" Firefox release party at Bar Italia on Corydon ave. Bar Italia was selected for it's central location and the fact that it has free public WiFi access. Event details and a signup form are here: http://www.openforce.at/mozparty2/?party=207 (Signup is optional but it gives us some idea of the numbers to expect) This is an informal event so there will be no long speeches, just chatting and conversing with other FireFox users. I was mucking around to see how wget and screen works. I think I made a mess :-( How do I get rid of the following three sockets? When I disabled the screen saver (or at least the parts that used the OpenGL) everything was fine. Detillieux) The Manitoba UNIX User Group (MUUG) will be holding its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 9. The meeting topic for this month is as follows: Building a Transparent Bridging Firewall with OpenBSD Shawn Wallbridge will be presenting on how to create a transparent bridging firewall with OpenBSD 3.6. Shawn will demonstrate setting up the firewall, and will (time permitting) show how to use OpenBSD's pf firewall to monitor bandwidth usage, and getting the usage numbers into MySQL with some Perl. The group holds its general meetings at 7:30 PM on the second Tuesday of every month from September to June. (There are no meetings in July and August.) Meetings are open to the general public; you don't have to be a MUUG member to attend. ********************************************************************** Please note our new meeting location: The IBM offices, at 400 Ellice Ave. (between Edmonton and Kennedy).
