I was reading the manual for my mother-in-law's new TV set, an LG 32LC7D, and there at the back is an Open Software notice. It's running a Linux 2.6.12 kernel, with Busybox. It has an RS232C "service" port on the back, too. No, I'm not going there.
In the good old days, when you turned on your TV, you had to wait for the tubes to warm up. Now you have to wait for the blasted thing to boot.
