Doug Shewfelt's memorial service will be held on Friday, Feb. 15 at 2:00pm at St. Andrew's United Church in Manitou MB. A private family internment service will precede the public service.
If you are planning to attend, please let me know via e-mail. I'll collect the list of names, and pass it along to Dave Clement, who asked for responses (to get an attendance estimate). Thank you.

The church is located at the corner of Hamilton St. and Fuller Ave. in Manitou:
To get to Manitou, take highway 3 past Carman and Morden, and stay on highway 3 right to Manitou. Alternatively, it may be slightly shorter to turn west onto highway 23 between Carman and Morden, then south onto highway 244 to Manitou. (Google Maps also suggests taking highway 2 from Winnipeg, then south on highway 244.)
Taking highway 23 has the advantage that you can see Manitoba Hydro's wind farm up close. It's impressive if you haven't seen it before.
Hi Gilbert,
I was planning on going but just found out that another friend died and they are having a service at the same time. I will probably go to that since we are also friends with the wife.
This the 2nd time in the last couple of months that I have had two funerals at the same time.
By the way Robert did a nice job of talking about Doug and having a moment of silence last night.

Wow! Sorry to hear that... I guess as we get older, we'll all be dealing with an increasing frequency of these.

Thanks for that. Glad it went over well. Too bad I couldn't be there.

Alas, I will not be attending. My mobility (and health/energy) are not up to long trips at the moment. Please express my condolences to everybody.
BTW, highway 3 is the better route.
