I tried this out and it is pretty slick. Finally a low end router which has a great CLI interface. Linksys has also put up the source that they used to build the image. I am running the latest Linksys image 2.02.7

I ran across a pretty amazing hotrodder's page for the WRT54G at http://www.seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/LinksysWrt54g. People are producing alternate firmware, soldering on serial connectors, boosting the power output, and just generally violating the warranty every way they can think of.
Thanks to all that showed interest, and special thanks to whomever passed the email along to the buyer that was not on the mailing list. The unit went today for $550. Probably a steal for the new owner, but I think it's going to a good home, and it was too tall for a coffee table anyway... :)
Again, thanks all.
