G'Day, Thank you for the suggestions. The server is using the ext3 file system. It appears cpio does not support files greater that 2G. If I tarball the structure, the system has no problem.

It came stock with my install. It is possible that certain applications still don't use the LFS syscalls. Are you running the ext3 filesystem?
