Everything was running just fine. Red Hat 7.2 had even found my modem and I learning how to use Glame. Then, because I was in a hurry, I did a shutdown inside an xterm window in KDE 2.2.1. Latter when I booted back up, and did startx, it failed with this error message: Could not init font path element unix/:700, removing from list! Fatal server error: Could not open default font 'fixed' X10: fatal IO error 104 (Correction reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 requests ( 0 known processed ) with 0 events remaining Looks bad. And it got worse when I did several xf86config and X still gives the same error. When I do a shutdown xfs gives an error. I've got no idea what to do. So I sent a bug report to xfree86@xfree86.org I doubt I'll ever hear from them. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a solution or will I have to re-install Red Hat?
