Linux Help

Hello MUUG! We are a small MSP in Winnipeg, we have a few customers with Linux servers and I don't have any Linux expertise on-staff. Small router box

Hey all, Maybe someone can remember the device I'm trying to recall. It's from a company that makes small devices which can run Linux and they come either as a bare board or in a small metal box with some number of ethernet ports. It's not ARM-based. I know that's vague, but surely some of you can come up with a list which will contain the one I'm trying to remember! Or something comparable, at least. Oh, and they used to advertise in Linux Journal. I'm not sure if they're still in business.

MUUG Meeting, Oct. 10, 7:30pm -- Kid3, VLAN Theory and Implementation

*** Please note the updated meeting location below *** The Manitoba UNIX User Group (MUUG) will be holding its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 10. The meeting topic for this month is as follows: VLAN Theory and Implementation VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks) allow you to partition a physical network at the data link layer, "creating the appearance and functionality of network traffic that is physically on a single network but acts as if it is split between separate networks." (Wikipedia) VLAN tagging (IEEE 802.1Q) allows traffic from multiple VLANs to travel between Ethernet switches over the same physical link. In this presentation, Gilbert Detillieux will introduce some of the basic concepts of VLAN setup, and show you how this can be implemented. Examples of implementation will be given using Cisco IOS commands and typical Linux network interface configuration. RTFM: Kid3 This month, Wyatt Zacharias will present and demonstrate Kid3, the KDE ID3 tag editor. The group usually holds its meetings at 7:30pm on the second Tuesday of every month from September to June. (There are no meetings in July and August.)
