MUUG Meeting, May 11, 7:30PM -- Redundant Firewalls with OpenBSD 3.5

Detillieux) The Manitoba UNIX User Group (MUUG) will be holding its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 11. The meeting topic for this month is as follows: Redundant Firewalls with OpenBSD 3.5's CARP and pfsync Shawn Wallbridge will discuss setting up redundant firewalls with CARP (Common Address Redundancy Protocol) and pfsync, which are new features of OpenBSD 3.5. He will also discuss other uses for CARP. The group holds its general meetings at 7:30 PM on the second Tuesday of every month from September to June. (There are no meetings in July and August.) Meetings are open to the general public; you don't have to be a MUUG member to attend. ********************************************************************** Please note our new meeting location: The IBM offices, at 400 Ellice Ave. (between Edmonton and Kennedy). When you arrive, you will have to sign in at the reception desk, and then wait for someone to take you (in groups) to the meeting room. Please try to arrive by about 7:15 PM, so the meeting can start promptly at 7:30 PM. Don't be late, or you may not get in. Limited parking is available for free on the street, or in a lot across Ellice from IBM, for $1.00 for the evening. Linux and Linksys router WRT54g

I tried this out and it is pretty slick. Finally a low end router which has a great CLI interface. Linksys has also put up the source that they used to build the image. I am running the latest Linksys image 2.02.7 http://www.batbox.org/wrt54g-linux.html Enjoy, Bill

The URL I downloaded was; [mel@p4 FC2-test3-binary-i386]$ btdownloadcurses.py --url http://torrent.dulug.duke.edu/FC2-test3-binary-i386.torrent That produced a directory in ~ automatically named "FC2-test3-binary-i386" containing the four .iso files and the MD5SUM. how do I convert a .torrent file to a .iso file

I went to fedora.rehat.com to get a CORE test file file. The file I downloaded had the description; Official Fedora Core 2 TEST3 binary iso images for i386 The file has a .torrent extension. running bittorrent

I installed bittorrent without issue and copied the following from my terminal ====================================================================== [root@p4 Download]# rpm -Uvh bittorrent-3.3-0.fdr.2.fc1.noarch.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%] package bittorrent-3.3-0.fdr.2.fc1 is already installed [root@p4 Download]# bittorrent bash: bittorrent: command not found [root@p4 Download]# su -l [root@p4 root]# bittorrent -bash: bittorrent: command not found [root@p4 root]# ======================================================================= I did a file search from / for bittorrent using the gui off the Red Hat start menu but found nothing. IBM AS/400

A while ago, I acquired an IBM AS/400 server that had just been taken out of service. The idea was to learn about them, and put it online for kicks. Things have changed. I don't have the time. All I know about it is that it has 16 4-GIG SCSI drives, and was in use up until the time I got it. This is the big-assed one, not the one that looks like an overgrown PC. Taking offers, cash or trades.
