Those of you who are the administrative contacts for a registered domain
under the .ca top-level domain will have no doubt received an e-mail such as
the one below (which you may have already deleted without giving it much
thought). Those of you who weren't at Tuesday's MUUG meeting might be
interested to know that Bill Reid (a long-time MUUG member, and the
presenter at our Tuesday meeting) is one of the candidates for the CIRA
board of directors election.
I've known Bill for a long time, and can't think of anyone in Manitoba who
would be more qualified as a CIRA board member. His knowledge of networks,
and his dedication to whatever tasks he takes on, would make him a great
asset to CIRA, and to all network users in Manitoba. I strongly encourage
you to vote for Bill!

Please join CIRA Members in casting votes online or by fax ballot starting at
noon (12:00) Eastern time June 16, 2005 until 8:00 pm (20:00) Eastern time
June 22, 2005.
You can cast your vote in one of three ways:
1. By following
https://elections.cira.ca/election_vote?t=DELETEDDELETEDDELETE ,
which will bring you directly to the voting interface.
2. By visiting
http://www.cira.ca/en/election_2005/vote-2005.html,
clicking on the VOTE link, and logging into the voting interface with your
CIRA User Account Number and Password.
3. By calling 1-877-860-1411 (8:00 to 20:00 Eastern time) to request a
fax ballot and vote by fax (directions are provided on the fax ballot).
A total of 14 Candidates are listed on the ballot. Candidates' names and
election statements are available through
http://www.cira.ca/en/election_2005/election-2005.html (click on Final Candidates).
Voting will close at 8:00 pm (20:00) Eastern time on June 22, 2005. The three
Candidates garnering the most votes will hold terms of three years and the fourth
Candidate will hold a Vacant Director seat for one year.
You will need your CIRA User Account Number and Password to vote or obtain a
fax ballot. If you have misplaced your CIRA User Account Number and/or Password,
please contact your Registrar as soon as possible to obtain a replacement.
If you do not know who your Registrar is, look up your domain name registration
information in the CIRA WHOIS directory at www.cira.ca/en/re_whois.html.
CIRA will, using reasonable commercial efforts, post the election results on
CIRAs website before June 29, 2005.
