[*] CIRA and IX mentioned in Wpg Free Press this morning

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. From a technical perspective this is
like wearing a bike helmet in an airplane to improve safety. From a
political perspective I don't know where this American xenophobia comes
from. I'm saddened that out of all the benefits an IX provides, the
takeaway is "now our packets won't transit American soil!!!" I'm ashamed as
a Canadian that CIRA even brought it up as a talking point. If you don't
want your packets to be seen by anyone there are technical solutions to
address it. Even if everyone connects to a Canadian IX there's no guarantee
that it gets used.
