Greetings all.

I'm trying to port a DID off my PRI to Telus Mobility.

The wireless folks did not think the whole procedure through very well.

Here's what has happened:

Called Telus to port a 204-272-XXXX DID to my Telus Cell Phone.
This 204-272-XXXX number will replace my Telus 204-997-XXXX number.
Basically, its a "Number Change".

So, first attempt, got rejected for some 'unknown error'. I called back 5
days later, and this time it seems to of accepted the order.

BUT! (here's the pain). Now my inbound calls on my telus cell phone do
not work. And my outbound calls show up as 204-272-XXXX.

I forget what term they gave this inconvenience.. Oh yeah... "MIXED
SERVICE"

This means that Inbound works on your old provider, and only outbound
works on your current provider, until the port is complete.

If its a wireless number, they say it can port in hours. (Meaning your
cell phone is only dead for outbound, for hours).

If its a landline number, they say it can take days...

Of course, they didnt tell me this.

As it stands, I can make calls with my cellphone, but cannot receive calls
on my cellphone (on the new # or old #).
