There was a brief discussion on some DECT technology and the spectrum
it utilizes and how the licensing works etc ... I did a little bit of
looking into and found a few things:
http://www.dect.org/
DECT stands for "Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications" and
denotes a radio technology suited for voice data and networking
applications with range requirements up to a few 100 m
In terms of spectrum allocation etc here are some docs:
1920-1930 MHz unlicenced
"any LE-PCS devices (nomadic or non-nomadic) certified in accordance
with RSS-213 can be distributed, sold and operated anywhere in
Canada;" (licence exempt)

DECT's note about the FCC decision:

Will be interesting to see what new comes to the N/A marketplace...
Dan.
