An interesting topic would be this:

I called the CRTC regarding some VoIP issues.  After a on/off-topic
conversation, I found out the following (based on May2005 decision)

The current regulations for voip allow for ONLY ILEC + CLECs to provide
VoIP services.

This means everyone providing DIDs with ATAs (me, vonage, primus, etc.)
are all operating contrary to regulation, since we are not clecs.
