Does anyone know of a package that has similar features to Flickr? We have a need for something like Flickr (basically image tagging and searching), but since it's reference for our projects, we can't really use Flickr.

I guess I should have said web based. Scalability is also important, since we are already hitting 300GB for a project we just started.

If you need something web-based, you might want to look at Gallery...
Although it's meant to run in a LAMP environment, it does support all the major UNIX flavours (and even Windows), many different web servers, and several back-end databases. It's written in PHP 4.
