Anyone know of a supply for 4GB _DDR2_ SODIMMs that is a bit more reasonable than $100+ each?
I have a Dell E6400 I'd like to beef up for VMs.
New/used don't care. The pricing for DDR3 has me very jealous of new computer owners. :P
These days, for the best price in wpg (even often on-line!), you find the model you want on MX's website, google "[manufacturer's model number] Canada" and find the cheapest price in the first page or two... Their price match +25% is insane, I've gotten wallplates they were selling for $3 at the price of $0.73 each after a few seconds of googling on their customer-use PC.

Also, beware that some laptops (including mine, and the last HP I worked on) have issues with large-capacity SODIMMs, only functioning correctly with the actual mfgr's accessory/upgrade part. I now have genuine Lenovo 4GB SODIMMs in my X201t now, nothing else would work.
On the other hand, I think that means I have a 4GB SODIMM downstairs... yup, one. Patriot PSD34G13332S. If that works, let me know and you can give it a try.

And if it doesn't work, I would be rather interested in trying/buying it for any of my 3 laptops that all take DDR2 SODIMM's.

Better late than never... Kingston seems to think that notebook can only do 2GB sticks. And they are pricey, Kingston E6400-specific 2GB's for $50-ish. Of course you could try 4's and see what happens...
