The good ones that work well are permanent(ish) installations that required noticeable amounts of power, heavy coax, and MANY feet of separation between two antennas.
You could borrow the one I have, but I think it's 3G only and the whole setup weighs ~30lbs. Also I know exactly where it is... to a roughly 500sqft accuracy :-D.
The handheld type that strap onto the back of a phone are of dubious benefit, but at least they aren't massive and heavy?

Does anyone have one of these? Do they work in areas with poor reception? I'm going to be out in the boonies and I'm worried I won't get calls. BellMTS, in Spruce Woods Provincial Park if it matters.
