What distro & what version of it?
What version of postfix?
Why doesn’t policyd “run properly”? Do you get any error messages?
There’s really only one mainstream solution, and that’s to use policyd (www.policyd.org). There are other, less well-supported policy daemons… see http://www.postfix.org/addon.html#policy for a list.

Subject: [RndTbl] Postfix Policy Daemon
Hello All,
I have recently setup a new email server running postfix, dovecot, etc... One of the issues I have is stopping my clients from sending a rediculous amount of mail as they tend to use my server from sending there spam. I was hoping to use a policy daemon to stop users from sending more than 100 emails per day and adjust the limit depending on the user/client. Unforunately I cannot find a policy daemon for postfix that runs properly on my distro.
Does anyone have any ideas ? Is there an up to date policy daemon out there for postfix or an alternative solution to restrict my users.
