If you're looking for a retail store: Corey's Computing. They currently have a Sempron and Athlon 1640 on clearance, both socket AM2. The title in their index lists the Athlon as AM2, but the detail page says AM3. I checked AMD's website, the LE-1640 is actually AM2.

Their current AMD processors appear to be AM3.

Subject: [RndTbl] CPU upgrade

Does anyone know if/where I can get a AMD AM2 CPU such as a Athlon X2 5800+? The AM3 CPUs are socket-compatible, but I'm not confident about the BIOS support.

Any thoughts?
