The role of Technical Solutions Specialist -
Systems Administrator will report to
the Technical Team lead and focus on the following
functional tasks:
- Server support
and maintenance (Web, Mail, DNS)
- Application
Implementation and testing
- Work with
engineering in evaluating requirements and achieving project
resolution
- Coordinate with
Engineering on quality and design changes
- Coordinate the
scheduling of sub contractors/vendors
- Provide technical
support to internal resources on internal systems
- Provide superior
customer service either on site or over telephone
- Follow-up to
assure total satisfaction through testing and feedback
- Have the ability
to prioritize tasks
- Work concurrently
on several projects with a minimum of supervision or
guidance.
Serving as the main point of contact for
administrative functions and as backup for
developmental projects, your role will require the
following criteria:
- Degree/Diploma in
Computer Science or equivalent
- Required skills:
Unix (Sun Solaris/Red Hat), Windows (NT/2000/2003)
based operating systems, Mail
(SMTP/POP3/IMAP/Exchange), Web (Apache/MySQL/PHP and
IIS/MSSQL/ASP), DNS, Radius, SSH, SSL,
HTML

Experience within an ISP environment
Desired skills: Java/JavaScript, Perl, Cold Fusion,
Visual Basic, .NET,
Database design
- In depth
knowledge of SQL language
- In depth
understanding of TCP/IP
- Familiarity with
voice and data Protocols (OSI Model)
- Routing and
switching experience preferred
- Recognized
designations are a value add (Cisco/Microsoft/Unix/ etc.)
- Must be able to
work well under pressure and within time constraints
- Must be willing
to work non-standard hours as needed
- Excellent oral
and written communication skills
- Excellent
customer service skills
This opportunity will require relocating to Bermuda
for 2-3 years minimum. As such,
highly portable individuals are sought. It is
considered beneficial to have outside
interests that correspond to the island life style
(i.e. golf,
tennis, boating, fishing, running, fitness,
etc). Compensation is competitive,
paid in $US equivalent, and is nearly income tax
free!
