UNIX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

You have a minimum three years’ experience managing and maintaining hardware and software in a Unix computer systems environment. The Unix Systems Administrator will provide support for operating systems such as AIX, Solaris and HP-UX and is also be versed in SAN, Systems Management and enterprise backup and recovery technologies as well as disaster recovery methods.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Operate within the framework of enterprise architecture and technology standards.
• Work with project teams to build and install infrastructure/application servers.
• Ensure systems are engineered to meet business service level expectations, as well as corporate I.S. standards
• Installation of servers
• Day to day server administration, operation and maintenance (direction provided by Team Lead, Server Support)
• Provide ‘level 2’ service desk support for the server environment including evening and weekend pager support on a rotational basis.
• Provide input and act as a resource for related technical infrastructure projects
• Conduct problem management for technical problems and issues


QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Minimum 3 years experience within IT environment
• Broad familiarity of technologies: Unix, Windows based server operating systems, Active Directory, networking, database, system management, etc.;
• Experience with enterprise backup and recovery products
• Experience with desktop environments
• Familiarity with system management tools
• Familiarity of security management principles
• Basic networking skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment



Web Technical Specialist

Description:
Providing support for both the UNIX and Intel-based web environments, you will operate within the framework of enterprise architecture and technology standards. You will work with project teams to build infrastructure and application environments, ensure the engineering of systems to meet business service levels, and handle the daily administration and maintenance of web-related servers. You will also provide Level 2 service desk support and act as a resource for technical infrastructure projects. You will be familiar with products such as IBM Websphere Application and Portal Server, Microsoft IIS, IBM HIS as well as proxy and LDAP services.

You have at least three years’ experience in an I.S. environment along with experience using IBM WebSphere Application Server and Portal Server. You’re familiar with Microsoft IIS, IBM HIS, Apache, Tomcat, Windows 2000/2003 Server, UNIX Operating Systems and proxy server administration. Your knowledge of LDAP and IBM’s TIM and TAM products is an asset. You’re an effective communicator with strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills. You thrive in a team setting and follow procedural requirements with ease
