GHY International is growing again and looking for a new Network
Administrator to handle a Linux based network security system. The
successful candidate will have at least 3 yrs of Linux Network
Administration in a corporate environment, be comfortable with Windows
based administration, and help GHY create a hybrid environment of both
working effectively to accomplish the desired business goals, while
ensuring that corporate security is maintained. Please see below for

POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Network Administrator
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Information Technology
Job Summary: Designs, Plans and maintains the network operations
(internal/external) data transmission networks and data security for the
company. Monitors network performance for problems and corrects as
required. Requires strong trouble shooting, analytic, and diagnostic
skills, along with good communication skills. Relies on extensive
experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Familiar with a
variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Performs a
variety of tasks. Works with the help desk as required. Supports Windows,
Linux, Unix and IBM i infrastructure including storage and virtualization
management.
Responsibilities
§ All aspects of network administration
§ Monitoring network performance
§ Network hardware administration and maintenance
§ Server/SAN hardware administration and maintenance
§ Correspond with vendors to solve software problems
§ Scripting and application development as required.
§ Troubleshoot network (LAN/WAN) connectivity issues
§ Troubleshoot software errors
§ Analyze needs and assists in implementation of systems and
solutions
§ Assist clients with online resources
§ Provides technical support internally or externally
§ Develop new work methods, procedures, or manuals
§ Coordinates use of software and hardware
§ Trains on procedures and solutions
§ Implementation or Upgrade of Systems as required
§ Maintain strong network of peers
§ Responsible to expand knowledge in related fields.
§ Work with other parts of organization/teams as required
§ Define opportunities to leverage or enhance current business
process and solutions, including introduction of new technologies not
already in use
§ Support coverage of other department roles as required
§ Must be able to provide after hours/weekend support as required
§ Instruction in GHY U Courses
§ Other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
§ Completion of Grade 12 Education
§ Degree from an accredited post secondary educational institution
§ Vendor Certification in above areas an asset
