<div>Also, utalk (<a href="https://utalk.ourproject.org/">https://utalk.ourproject.org/</a>) has a peer-to-peer mode that doesn't require talkd/ntalkd.  And it compiled under CentOS 8 so should work for you, too.  (I can't even compile ntalk!)</div>
