I bought one many years ago that has worked fine in Linux ever since.
I'm sure you can find one used, or a newer model new:

I think I had to buy the 2 x SFF-8087 breakout cables separately.
Anyhow, extremely reliable over the years. I have a full 8 drives on
mine.
I use only JBOD and it does it easily/well.
